the city of regnum
Welcome to Forever Forgotten, a Pokemon roleplay set in a cursed city inside a giant hole in the ground. We welcome roleplayers of all levels, and we offer a wide variety of events with chances for members to directly impact the site's overall plot. Join the government wings to maintain peace and harmony in the city, the notorious Yamask Saints or the rising Granbull Gang in pursuit of money or your own personal goals; or perhaps join us as a simple civilian trying to make it on their own.
12/25/17 The Serbati (Christmas) event is now up and running! Grab some free gifts from the Regnum City, trade with your friends and have fun celebrating the holidays with loved (or not so loved) ones!

A new contest: Here! Members are able to compete in creating their own Regnum Pokemon (much like the Alolan Pokemon). Six lucky people will have those Pokemon made officially on the site. Check out the link for more details.

A new event: Here! The GBGs are up to no good and everyone is welcome to join in on the fun. Signups will be running for one week and you will be able to sign up even after the event has started. All of the GBG members have received a password for the locked board. Please do not share this with any other members unless they have a GBG Character.

Spring has finally surfaced in Regnum, the mass amount of ice and snow slowly beginning to vanish as the flowers take over. Though the rivers still contain some ice and many buildings have fallen to ground due to the earthquake, the colours of spring has managed to make the place seem a tad bit peaceful. Perhaps it's a sign that things will be getting better again soon.

It came so suddenly and without warning throughout the dead of the night: A sudden pulse throughout the city, followed by another and another. By the time people knew what was happening, a large earthquake shook the city, causing buildings to tumble, grounds to crack and shift and, worse of all, the city borders to collapse. Many lives were lost, others injured and lives completely changed forever.

The power plant in Regnum is still down, but some groups have gotten together with electric Pokemon to help restore some of the electricity to the city. It is suggested not to walk the streets alone as the crime rates have sky rocketed despite the efforts of the Enforcement Wing. Phones and internet is still down, but people have started finding other ways to communicate for the time being. In good news, the weather has begun to warm up, the snow and ice finally melting. Sadly, the barrier is still blocking people from leaving the city.

I Am the fucking Best

"Finally." Was all Doug could say as the door leading into the office slid open, his shoulders growing less tense as he dropped his bag on a swivel chair in front of a desk. The school jacket was swiftly discarded onto a coat hanger soon after, the boy rolling his shoulders slowly now that the heavy weight of books no longer tested his back muscles.

After a rough, rather unfair start, Doug had recently started catching up in to his classmates with his grades. Thanks to some after school tutoring, the head start the other kids had on him had been closed, finally.

This meant he could stop wasting his afternoons at school

Unfortunately, even though he was no longer lagging behind, School still wasn't any fun. Teachers didn't seem to like him and most of his classmates seemed determined to test the limits of his patience. At least Biology and Chemistry were fun. He had been at the top of his class since day one in those.

Considering his interests and his job, that wasn't exactly unexpected.

"Wonder if I can just skip school." Why they insisted in sending him to a place that encouraged children to embrace conformism, he had absolutely no idea. Something to think about later, he thought as he yanked at the lab coat within his bag, sliding it on smoothly as he exited his office and began making his way towards the labs.

Though the Wing wasn't completely empty during the evenings, it was rather obvious that not nearly as many people worked during the night shifts. The place was considerably more silent than usual.

Some researchers could still be found in the labs however, passion and drive likely making them forget to go home. Doug could respect that.

Dipping both hands into the pockets of his lab coat, a facemask strung around his neck, Doug's steps echoed across the long, empty halls of the Wing as he made his way towards one of the few special elevators meant to take authorized members into the building's specialized facilities.

getting by, one day at a time
It'd been years since he'd undergone any kind of formal schooling. Though there were some days in Kalos where he'd visit schools, it would only be for a day or two, with only a single class to prepare for that covered only a single subject. Traditional schooling was only required until the age of 10 - afterwards, you were free to go and adventure as much as you wanted.

But Regnum had differing laws overall, schooling included. It was compulsory for any minor, even if they had a job. But Jory was able to adjust fairly quickly - even if there was a wider array of subjects he had to learn, they were all subjects he had a basis of from his stepfather's teachings.

Even if it took some time, it was like riding a bicycle - his study habits quickly bridged the gap between him and the other students, and he soon surpassed them. School life wasn't that much different either: do what the instructor says, don't leave your pokemon out, follow school rules. Watch out for anyone that's got their eye on you, be careful of large groups, don't get provoked into acting out.

That said, he still preferred his time at the Pokemon Wing. More time around people who didn't try to take his hat so they could show off his "grey" hair, and didn't talk about how he was actually an alien in disguise, who even had a strange shadow. Just people that had more important things to work on. And the countless pokemon he worked with - many of which he'd only learned about.

Though at the moment, his attention lied with a Pokemon that he was familiar with: his shiny Cutiefly. It'd been a while since he let her out of her pokeball, but she'd wandered off when he hadn't been paying attention. It was a large facility that spanned through and underneath a large portion of the city; this was going to take some time.

Fortunately, there were few researchers around to notice his mistake. But that proved to be a double-edged sword, as it left him with few clues of where she went. From what few witnesses there were, said she had wandered somewhere into the Science Wing. While it wasn't the one he worked in, he had received a tour of the area.

And it gave him a pretty good idea of where she was headed.

As he hastily roamed the halls, Jory came across something he didn't expect: another kid, this one dressed in a lab coat with a facemask around his neck. It reminded him that he probably wasn't dressed properly for this place - he was still in his usual street clothes, not even having the chance to have changed into his breeder uniform.

The first person he met in this place around his age, and he was already embarrassing himself. Great. Still, there was a good chance he'd seen where his Cutiefly went.

Carefully, he approached. Embarrassment prevented him from looking the other boy in the eye, only glancing every few moments to see if he'd already caught his attention. "E-excuse me," he squeaked out, a forced crooked smile on his face as he tried not to look out-of-place. "Would you have happened to see a pink Cutiefly flying around here? She got loose, and I think she's looking for other Bug-type Pokemon."

I Am the fucking Best

Nearly jumped out of his skin when a high voice squeaked behind him, the sound echoing across the nearly empty halls. He had yet to meet anyone in the faculty with a voice so high. Must have been one of the younger girls.

Turning on his heel in the direction of the voice, the kid found himself being approached by a slightly shorter boy in a hoodie. He stared in complete silence as the words tumbled out of the hooded boy's mouth, until there was nothing being said and an awkward silence settled between them.

Then he suddenly held out his hand to the boy.

"Douglas Freeman, Pokemon Entomologist. Friends call me Doug. A pleasure." He suddenly greeted the boy, his handshake firm. He wanted to chat about a lot of things with this boy; he was the only other child he had met working within a wing. Needless to say, he was starved for companionship.

First things first, however. Solving problems.

"Walk with me." He said to the boy suddenly, gesturing with his head towards the end of the hall before resuming walking towards the elevator, his steps back to echoing across the building.

"What's your name? Are you from Alola? Sorry for assuming, Cutiefly and all that." He asked the other boy conversationally, humming as he fingered one of the pokeballs around his waist. Which one of his pokemon would be a good tracker...?

"A pink Cutiefly, Hmm." He muttered to himself as he gripped at a pokeball. He would have definitely noticed a... 'shiny' Alolan insect if it had so much as entered his range of sight, so it at least most definitely not anywhere he had walked through so far.

There were not that many bug type trainers on the building besides himself at this hour, so it apparently missed him and his team while searching for other bug types to...

"We could always draw it out with strong emotions. But that's hard to fake." He mumbled to himself once more. "If you've searched all over this level already and didn't find it, it probably slipped into the lower levels. Most of the researchers here wouldn't notice if it followed them into the elevator."

"What is it looking for other bug-types anyways? A good number of them are rival species and a good other predates on it. She would have neutral ground with very few of 'em."
