once upon a time,
somebody ran, somebody ran saying fast as i can
It was dusk and the sky was beautiful. Gold clouds decorated the blue sky and the black buildings were outlined against it. If Daria didn't know any better, she would say it was a sign of hope and prosperity. Blue is a hopeful color: That was what she believed. And the gold meant prosperity because gold is a valued color. But black? What did that represent? A frown crossed her delicate features as she didn't want to think the answer aloud. Instead, she continued her trek through the forbidden area of Baton Alley.
The place wasn't truly forbidden. Not for her, at least. She heard horror tales of the black market, but it was usually meant for nosy children or civilians. They needed to stick with their open markets and malls with items aplenty. This place here was meant for the big dogs. If there was a particular item that someone needed, it could be acquired--with a hefty price. In fact, that was the reason why Daria roamed the streets was beginning to show evidence of the approaching night. She didn't like to conduct business at night. That was when the shady, desperate, and ruthless people came out.
She wished she could say that she didn't have to worry about things like that--She was a GBG after all. Yet, there were times when she ran into a few scrapes and not even Grunge could help her out of it. He was by far her strongest companion out of the six and the one she had the strongest connection to. No matter how often she tried to have him stay out of her dark business, he always presented himself and wouldn't go back into the ball until it was dealt with. Not that he ever went inside of the thing anyway...
A nudge to her side brought her back to reality. She was in the Baton Alley, specifically, in front of her client. She and Grunge went inside, exchanged the trade, and exited with ease. Most of the traders here in Baton Alley knew of Daria and her canine companion. She was a girl of her word and not only that, but she was also a beloved member of GBG. If anyone messed with her, hell fire and brimstone would shortly follow the poor sap.
Grunge paused and a growl erupted from the pokemon. Daria almost forgot how intimidating the little guy is. He was notably bigger than Poochyena his size, but maybe it was because he was nearing evolution. Or he was filled with Daria's love.
His growl let her know that someone was nearby, and she quickly moved her hand to where her dagger hid. "Come out, come out, whoever you are," she stated in a sing-song voice. Even though she was tense, she presented herself as carefree. She didn't like to be sneaked up on. Fortunately, Grunge was looking for a fight all day if this was a foe.
