Spring has finally surfaced in Regnum, the mass amount of ice and snow slowly beginning to vanish as the flowers take over. Though the rivers still contain some ice and many buildings have fallen to ground due to the earthquake, the colours of spring has managed to make the place seem a tad bit peaceful. Perhaps it's a sign that things will be getting better again soon.

It came so suddenly and without warning throughout the dead of the night: A sudden pulse throughout the city, followed by another and another. By the time people knew what was happening, a large earthquake shook the city, causing buildings to tumble, grounds to crack and shift and, worse of all, the city borders to collapse. Many lives were lost, others injured and lives completely changed forever.

The power plant in Regnum is still down, but some groups have gotten together with electric Pokemon to help restore some of the electricity to the city. It is suggested not to walk the streets alone as the crime rates have sky rocketed despite the efforts of the Enforcement Wing. Phones and internet is still down, but people have started finding other ways to communicate for the time being. In good news, the weather has begun to warm up, the snow and ice finally melting. Sadly, the barrier is still blocking people from leaving the city.

Spend your time well here in hell before you go
... This was awkward. Like, by all levels of awkward. For the first time in a long while, Penny Santos stepped out of her house and into the market place. The streets were bustling with people - both gang, mafia and commoners alike as they were striking up deals to the other from within the stores lining the streets. The sounds that echoed down ranged from the aggressive patrons to the general buffoonery of children. But one might ask; why in the world was a hacker out in the open like this? No; let me rephrase that. Why in the world was Penny out in the open like this? Frankly, she despised crowds much as she despised people. She much prefers the company of her robotics and electronics, if not her own pokemon. She was not enjoying this in the slightest.

All of a sudden, her watch lights up. Nothing more than a little face, simple and pixelated made by none other than herself. It showed up on a bright blue screen, outlined with a bold black that acted as it's own contrast. However the ginger ignores the watch, glancing forwards as her feet step into the ground. Shortly thereafter, she feels a gentle vibration against the same wrist - something that she ignored. Yes, she kept on ignoring the damn buzzing, for as long as she could. While walking down a crowd of people. Hell, all she had to do was plug herself into her earbuds and listen to her music. Her hand reaches down to grab her MP3 player, gently clicking the buttons to swipe through the playlist. Just because the wifi wasn't working, and most other electronics weren't, it doesn't mean she can't charge with her rotom. Plus, she really had to charge the charger, and she was set to go.

Unfortunately, her plan to plug in didn't exactly go as planned. Just as she was about to pull the headphones over her ears, the gradual raise of tone from her wrist seemed to hit a spike in volume. Just imagine this girl walking down a street, trying to mind her own business, and then wham! A tiny robotic, male, child voice chirping up to her out of no where. "PENNY!" The slightly auto-tuned voice screeches, much to the ginger's dismay. The trainer cringes at the voice. This raise in volume was more than enough to attract the attention of the people around them, much to her annoyance. She can feel the eyes prying onto her. She can feel her heart stop for a moment from pure shock and anxiety. Clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth, she waves off an apology to those around her before bringing the wrist watch to face it.

"Peter! What did I say about shouting in public..?!"

Penny lowers her voice as she snaps at the watch. The face on the little AI seemed pouty, glancing to the side and away from his creator with a puffed, digital cheek. The hacker then brings a hand up to gently massage the bridge of her nose, pushing up her glasses as a result.

"I'm just trying to help you find a gift.."
"Thanks, but.. No thanks. It'll be awkward if others heard you."
"Then why'd you even bring me?"
"... Because I'm not good at these things."

There's a brief silence, a pause, as the AI snorts to himself in a slightly robotic tone. "Hey! Don't laugh at me!" She hisses in embarrassment, glaring down the tiny screen wrapped around her arm. With that, she quickly shuts off her watch (something she should have done a while ago) before continuing down the market. God.. Hopefully, no one paid mind to that little exchange between a woman and her watch.

A simple trip to the marketplace was what Fia initially planned. She'd run short on snacks and drinks to offer patients and coworkers, and she required a few more candles to help lighten her office's atmosphere. Though not particularly bothered by the crowds, she did find the clumps of people made it more difficult for her to make her way around to where she needed. Fortunately, she had plenty of time between now and her next appointment that she could idly flow through the throngs of shoppers and diners.

During her leisurely-paced walk through the crowds, she became witness to a rather intriguing sight. A young girl—or so she appeared, anyway—having what looked to be an argument with...a watch? She gently pushed forward between some of the people who also took notice, moving closer so she could observe the situation. Murmurs of the ginger being mentally unstable could be overheard, but she paid them no mind. Had they not heard of Pokétchs or similar technology that granted people communication via small technologies?

Still, with the power being out, Fia couldn't help but wonder how the young girl was able to interact with whoever was answering through the watch. She was incredibly hesitant to deduce that the woman was indeed experiencing some form of psychosis, but without anything else to go on other than the few minutes she'd observed her, there was no way she could properly evaluate her.

The best way to do that, of course, would be to make small talk with her.

"Excuse me, Miss." She approached the woman with a smile, back straightened and movements steady and graceful. "Are you having trouble with your smartwatch?" She mentally told herself to believe the woman was perfectly stable, wishing to quell the nerves some of the surrounding onlookers had.

Spend your time well here in hell before you go
Peter, unlike his creator, was the chipper of the two. He was the ray of light, he was that little shining screen that tried to keep her company when she was lonely. However there were the few times she wished that she made him to be less and less obnoxious as the days came to pass. Initially her Rotom insisted that he be bright and cheerful - much as the plasma coated pokemon - only for the ginger woman to immediately regret her decision. Days and nights where she would be telling it to shut up, and even more awkward moments out in public where you'd see a woman screaming at her "smart watch" without any explanation.

Though there was nothing that a little electric pokemon couldn't do to charge something up, and watches didn't even take that much power to begin with. It was just unfortunate that her Rotom refused to charge the remainder of her electronics so that she could make adjustments to this AI.. Dammit.

Shortly after her banter with Peter and shutting the little guy off temporarily; her eyes traced up to find the figure of a rather.. Elegant woman. Elegant, due to lack of a broader vocabulary. With striking golden eyes staring down at her own violet, Penny seemed to freeze up a tad from the sudden approach. From behind her black-rimmed glasses was the expression of both a baffled admiration and plain surprise that someone would dare approach her after witnessing.. Whatever that was.

A hand reaches behind her head to slide the red-cushioned headphones down her straight orange hair. Along down the side of her face, up until they were able to rest on her shoulders. No, there was no music playing due to her phone being out of juice (something that she wished Glitch would fix, but to no avail). Her headphones being kept over her ears however, was something more of a habit and a convenient way to keep the muttering and rumours out of her head. Which.. Would explain why she was never just a bit hesitant to pull them down.

.. A smart watch. A smart-- Oh. Right. She meant Peter. Though brief, the considerably short woman narrowed her eyes down to her wrist before tilting her chin back upwards - hoping to meet the eyes of the woman who was approximately an entire foot towering. "No, it's fine." She starts. Her hands gently fidget under the sleeves of her thin coat, more so out of embarrassment. A small smile creeps to her lips as she's rubbing the back of her neck, her tone fills with a slightly apologetic ring. "Hah.. Sorry about that. My Rotom charged up my watch the other day." Was.. Probably all that she needed to say?

You can't really say: "Oh yeah. I programmed an AI the other day a while ago, and he was kind of bugging me so I shut him off. Sorry." Without other people looking at you the same as they did right now.

She's about to bow in an apology, only for a sudden robotic chirping to chime from her wrist. The screen that she thought she had shut off began to ring again - this time, with a petite, pixelated face that appeared to be less than pleased. "Oh, so I'm just a watch?" Peter whines, much to Penny's dismay. His sudden appearance prompted her to pull her hand down so fast, more so to gently squeeze her wrist and muffle the AI. "Mmmmpf!" He began mocking, knowing fully well that he could easily speak through Penny's hand.

"Peter, you're--...!" She abruptly starts, glaring down at her watch up until she recalls that there's someone else just.. Watching. Most likely watching. And probably creeped out. However this time, her glasses seemed to be falling down, off the bridge of her nose as she's frantically covering her wrist. "Erk.." She groans. This was.. Ugh. ".. Sorry about that.. He uh.. Gets a bit chatty."
