Spring has finally surfaced in Regnum, the mass amount of ice and snow slowly beginning to vanish as the flowers take over. Though the rivers still contain some ice and many buildings have fallen to ground due to the earthquake, the colours of spring has managed to make the place seem a tad bit peaceful. Perhaps it's a sign that things will be getting better again soon.

It came so suddenly and without warning throughout the dead of the night: A sudden pulse throughout the city, followed by another and another. By the time people knew what was happening, a large earthquake shook the city, causing buildings to tumble, grounds to crack and shift and, worse of all, the city borders to collapse. Many lives were lost, others injured and lives completely changed forever.

The power plant in Regnum is still down, but some groups have gotten together with electric Pokemon to help restore some of the electricity to the city. It is suggested not to walk the streets alone as the crime rates have sky rocketed despite the efforts of the Enforcement Wing. Phones and internet is still down, but people have started finding other ways to communicate for the time being. In good news, the weather has begun to warm up, the snow and ice finally melting. Sadly, the barrier is still blocking people from leaving the city.

With a tad more grace and much better jumping skills, the oddly colored Sceptile took the exact same root up to the window that Takashi would have taken. Unlike something Takashi would do, however, he paused a moment, glancing inside to see if someone was home before lightly tapping on the glass.... and a few more times just to be sure that the person he was looking for actually answered. He could see someone on the sofa, though it could be that lazy fire Pokemon that human kept. Still, his hopes were high. They were the only person he could think of to go to that wouldn't... well, kill his partner the moment they saw him.

It was that lazy fire Pokemon, though he would much rather consider himself far too important to bother himself with anything other than a nice, comfortable couch. Still, Brice lifted his head at the sound of tapping, leaning it against the warm of the couch as his eyes drifted toward the window. He flicked his tails dismissively and closed his eyes, but, thankfully, he was not the only one to hear the tapping on the glass of the window. Maeva poked her head out of the bedroom, glancing back in before stepping out and softly closing the door. She quickly made her way over to the window, opening the door to the studio as she passed by. The open door did nothing to disturb the working Warlord inside, but that could be addressed later. The Noivern wasted no time in opening the window, stepping aside to let the Sceptile inside.

Burg slowly made his way inside the moment the window was opened for him. Once safely within, he gave the Noivern a small bow in thanks before standing up straight to explain why he had come and without his partner. "Scept spectile tile tile," he explained saying that his trainer was in dire need of someone knocking some sense into him. "Sceptile spet sce spet." He added that he was afraid if someone didn't soon, he'd surely allow himself to starve to death.

The window remained open even after the Sceptile was completely inside the apartment. She only glanced toward the glass once before focusing her attention on Burg, tapping her claws together in front of her chest. Oh dear, she was quick to make a telepathic link with the Sceptile, and the tapping of her claws became out of worry rather than habit. Ah, um... You should be telling this to-- well, rather, I should be-- oh, one moment please. The Noivern bobbed her head before heading toward the open door, ducking into the studio.

There was a yelp and a crash, followed by a string of curses in French, before a form emerged from the room. It was Dominique, wide eyed and holding one of their fingers to their lips, having pricked it with a needle only moments earlier. Maeva followed soon after. "What's this about Tankey and starving?"

Burg nodded, understand what the Noivern was trying to say even if she seemed a bit... was flustered the word? As he waited for the other Pokemon to return, his pale yellow eyes glanced around the room, looking over everything in the room rather quickly. He had to agree with Takashi on one thing; This place did need more plants. It would help make the room feel less stuffy.

His head quickly snapped over to the door when he heard the string of cursing causing him to raise his brow (Hairless of course) at Domi. He waited for them to speak up before he began to explain once again. 'He's sulking and needs a friend... hopefully,' Burg explained, 'You're... the closest thing to a friend. Come." Ok, it was a bad explanation but he had never been good at talking to anyone let alone explain things. He didn't give much more time to consider what he had said either, instead turning to head to the window before pausing and realizing that human probably couldn't climb. His human was special.

Their eyebrows knitted as Maeva translated for the Sceptile. Their finger dropped away from their mouth once the bleeding had stopped, and their lips formed a tight line. "I see..." If the Sceptile had to be the messenger, then it must be serious. He had probably holed himself up wherever he lived. "Ah, we'll meet you outside in a few moments." The Noivern gave them a sideways glance in confusion, but Dominique was already turning to disappear into the kitchen. After rummaging around a bit, they returned with a band-aid around their pricked finger and two bulky bags filled with anything they might need to potentially bribe Takashi out of whatever mood he was in.

Okay, really, they were still stuck on the 'starve himself' bit.

"Come along, Maeva. Brice, you're on babysitting duty. Blanc should be waking up in an hour or so." They flitted around the living room, handing the bags to Maeva so they could put their shoes on. Normal shoes. Not heels. Today was not a heels sort of day. They disappeared through the front door, Maeva following quickly after and locking the door behind them. Down the hall and down the stairs they went, arriving outside after a few more minutes.

Once again he nodded before slipping outside the window, turning only for a moment to carefully shut it behind him. It hadn't taken him long to make it down to the ground where he waited somewhat patiently for Dominique to come down. He had been standing there, arms crossed and foot tapping as he waited. The moment he saw Domi emerge from the apartment, he turned to lead the way pausing once more.

'Right... humans are slow walkers,' he claimed out loud, though it was more to himself than to the Noivern and Domi. He turned back around, pointing south as he explained, 'He's in the southern district. It's a long walk. You should take one of those human-made, environment destroying vehicles.' He truly did hate humans for more than half their inventions.

A hint of amusement drew on the lines of Maeva's face, more apparent in the squint of her eyes and the slightest upturn of the corners of her mouth. Walking is meant to be slow. Having not bothered to translate for Dominique, the Warlord did not seem the slightest bit bothered, more worried on why they had stopped again. They turned and grabbed one of the bags hanging from the Noivern's claws, cradling it to their chest as their blue eyes drew toward the Sceptile.

It was the second bit that Maeva actually translated, and Dominique scoffed at the suggestion. "The bus system is unreliable, and cabs are sketchy in these parts. If you want us to get there in a timely manner, I suggest we fly." The remaining bag lifted into the air with the faintest glimmer of energy around it. Maeva stretched her wings, ready to take to the sky. "Go and we'll follow. Just try to keep yourself where Maeva can see you."

Fly? Oh hell no, he wasn't flying! That was clear by the look on his face the moment it was brought up. A look that soon turned to relief when he realized only they would be flying. Thank all that was green and healthy for that. "Sceptile," he agreed with them, once again turning to lead the way. He stayed on the higher levels of the city making sure the Noivern could see him from up above the entire way.

It has still taken them a little while to make it to the small, rundown, cabin-like home in the south. It was then and only then that Burg slowed down, making his way around to the back of the building where a small porch sat overlooking the woods behind it. He stopped once he made to the side of the railless porch, looking over at his partner who was sitting up against the wall of the home. He was still in the exact same spot Burg had left him in, hoping the cool, fresh air would cheer him up some. It hadn't.

The usual glow of the man seemed to be missing, and almost ominous aura surrounding him. He was sitting on the ground, which thankfully was free from snow thanks to his Pokemon. One knee was up to his chest while the other leg was stretched out in front of him. Though his eyes appeared to be looking at the outstretched leg, it was clear by his expression that his mind was elsewhere. Both hands sat in his lap, one wrapped in what once appeared to be a white and blue dishcloth now stainned in red, while the other held both the cloth and hand. Despite the arrival of the new comers, Takashi didn't seem to budge from his spot, not even bothering to look up.

The same energy that encompassed the bag soon surrounded the Warlord, lifting them onto the Noivern's back and keeping them secure. The pair took to the air only seconds later, and a dark shadow darted out from behind the apartment building to trail after them. Despite being faster than the Noivern, especially when Maeva had to carry Dominique and two heavy bags, the Crobat remained behind her, keeping lookout for trouble while Maeva's gaze remained focused upon the green blur of a Sceptile.

When they arrived, Maeva slowed considerably as she made her descent, drifting with the wind. She landed with a soft crunch of the snow in front of the building, waiting for Dominique to slid off her back before she stretched. The Crobat disappeared to circle around the area and find a suitable place to perch. All the while, Dominique was staring at the cabin. "... I was expecting a replica of a traditional Kanto home, but this suits him just as well." A tug on their sleeve tore their eyes away from the cabin and to Maeva as she tried to get them to follow in the direction Burg had gone.

Around the back they went with the bags trailing behind them, still floating in the air. Their frown quickly tugged at their lips once more as they reached the back and caught sight of Takashi. Smells like blood, chimed Maeva's voice in their head. She kept the connection only with Dominique for the moment, allowing them to quickly figure out how they were going to go about this. Something tells me we'll need more than pie to fix this. Thankfully, they brought more than pie. With a soft sigh, they glanced around before crouching down, scooping up some of the snow and sculpting it into a crude snowball. What? They didn't have the time for perfection right now.

With a swift pitch as they stood up, the snowball sailed through the air and toward Takashi. "You know, Tankey, it's really rude not to greet your guests." They strode further around the back, not yet daring to step onto the porch just yet. They might need more snow, after all. They tried to position themself in front of him from beyond the porch, resting their hands on their hips. Despite their previous action, they did not even bother to conceal their worry with any of their usual masks.

For the time being, Burg kept his distance, allowing the human to work their magic. Takashi, on the other hand, had still been in his own little world and not even noticed Domi or the other Pokemon. It wasn’t until the snowball hit him that he jumped slightly, his eyes glancing up in confusion. It took him a moment to find Dominique and another moment to process that it was a person standing there, all the while he hadn’t even bothered to wipe the snow now melting on his kimono off. “A snow angel…” were the first words to come out of his mouth, though they were mumbled and more to himself than to Domi.

“How…” the first, rather weak, word came out of his mouth as his eyes looked Domi up and down before slowly turning towards Burg. The Sceptile was just standing there with his arms crossed. Somehow that seemed to confirm Takashi’s supposition.

His eyes lifted back up to Domi before he let out a tiny sigh, resting his head back against the wall, “I’m sorry…” he spoke softly, closing his eyes and taking a moment to swallow in attempt to clear some of the dryness in his throat, “I wasn’t expecting guests… haven’t cleaned up.” A forced a smile onto his lips despite how unconvincing it was. It earned a roll of the eyes from Burg who still looked very unimpressed with the entire situation. Takashi didn’t bother standing up though. His body felt too weak and frail at the moment to even bother. It had taken Burg carrying him outside to even get him to move from the kitchen wall where he had been previously.

While they were pleased to have evoked a response from the man, it was not enough to clear away their worries. If anything, it only made them worse. This was not the Takashi they had come accustomed to running into on the streets or even inviting into their home. That Takashi was not this weak. Just what happened to you? Maeva's voice was quick to intrude. Master Dominique, blood. Right, right. They could worry about the details later. Right now, they should focus on more urgent matters right now. Without a word, they stepped onto the porch, shaking off the snow that clung to their shoes.

"Don't apologize, and don't worry about messes. I can bring Regnum's best cleaning service over later." They stepped closer before crouching down beside him. Their frown only grew as they looked him over, eyeing the reddened cloth more than anything else. "Actually, apologize. In the form of an explanation. For now, though..." They glanced up. "Maeva, darling, get him inside." They stood once more, stepping around to the other side of the porch so they could grab the bags floating in the air. This allowed for Maeva to focus on wrapping Takashi in her psychic energy. Whether he had enough strength to stand was no longer necessary since he would just be lifted into the air to take him inside.

Blue eyes focused on the Sceptile. "If there are any medical supplies here, could you please bring them to me? Otherwise, you can get Hector to retrieve some. That dirty rag isn't going to cut it."

“Regnum’s best… cleaning service?” He had asked, slowly opening his eyes as he sensed Domi drawing closer. A small look of confusion slipped on his face for only a second until Domi asked for an explanation. He really didn’t want to explain. Not because he wanted it to be a secret but because he just didn’t have the energy to get into a long discussion about how he was a failure and how he felt like a waste of space. He didn’t have time for any explaining as he felt his body being lifted by the psychic energy. Something he had always imagined would be rather uncomfortable and awkward feeling but in fact wasn’t bad at all. Or… wouldn’t have been too bad had the moving not made him feel slightly dizzy and sick to his stomach. Of course, that was his own fault, not Maeva’s.

“Sceptile,” Burg replied to Domi as he followed them inside the building, agreeing to grab the medical kit for them. They entered into a somewhat large room that acted as both the living room from the side they entered and a kitchen on the other side. There wasn’t much in the room other than a kitchen table, appliances, a sofa, and loveseat. There was no tv, no pictures on the walls and no decorations anywhere to be seen. Unless you counted a few really old looking curtains that had likely been there since the day he bought the place. To the right of them there was two doors, one leading to a bathroom and another leading to a small bedroom.

The moment they entered a Bulbasaur perked up from her spot in the kitchen, looking over at the three entering the home. She had a rag in her hand and it appeared like she was attempting to clean up a mess that had been on the floor. All that was left was a small brownish red stain in the hardwood. “Sceptile tile” Burg had spoken to Lily, asking about the medical kit. She had quickly nodded, setting her rage into the sink before picking up the small white box that had been left and neglected by Takashi when she had offered it to him the first time. “Bulba bulb,” she offered it to Domi, a worried expression on her face.

“They were… both a part of fetching you… weren’t they?” Takashi had asked, not even having to look at Lily to see her guilty expression, “You don’t need to be here. We’ll be fine.”

They stayed on the porch with the bags, allowing the Noivern to duck inside and pull Takashi in with her. Only once they were both inside did Dominique follow after, passing through the door and immediately looking around at what they had to work with. They stepped into the kitchen, glancing at Lily and the stain as they stepped past her to set the bags down on the first free space they found on the counter tops. Meanwhile, Maeva gently set Takashi down on the sofa before releasing her psychic hold over him. She positioned herself beside him, ready to make a fuss or help if need be.

Dominique turned around just as the Bulbasaur chimed in, and they flashed her a smile as they took the box. "Thank you, dear." Their eyes turned down at the box as they opened it to see what they had to work with. It wasn't much, though it would make due for now. They glanced in Takashi's direction before striding to the back door, opening it once more and poking their head out. "Hector, darling, fetch Cosme, and bring the big medical kit, please." With that, they stepped back and closed the door. They took in a deep breath to keep themself composed before turning around and heading for the sofa. The smile that they had shown Lily had vanished, returning to their worried frown.

"Whether or not they played a part in this is unimportant right now." Maeva finally budged from her spot, slipping toward the kitchen with her focus on Lily. We need a clean towel. Dampened. Dominique opened the box again, sorting through and picking out what they needed before setting it aside for easy access. They then rolled their sleeves up to their elbows before they held out one of their hands, palm facing up. "Takashi, in your situation, lying will get you nowhere. You have already shown to me that you can't even take care of basic first aid, so there is no way in Hell that I am going to leave you. Now give me your hand, and don't even think about complaining or trying to drive me away. It. Won't. Work."

Normally the Bulbasaur would be sparkly eyed and very proud for being thanked by someone. She absolutely loved helping out. Today, however, she was rather upset. Not only was she the reason her trainer was injured but her attempts to help him so far had only made things even worse. She felt like a failure and ashamed of herself. Still, she’d do anything Dominique asked to make things right again. So the moment Maeva asked for a clean, dampened towel, she quickly responded with a ‘Bulbasaur!” and raced towards the bathroom.

Takashi, on the other hand, didn’t seem to want to cooperate at all. He had allowed himself to fall over on the sofa, leaning against the armrest as he curled his body slightly. He really hadn’t been paying attention to anything going on around him until Domi claimed ‘who had done what didn’t matter at the moment.’ They were right. In the long run it didn’t matter. Nothing really mattered. He had murdered the very person he had told himself he wouldn’t ever hurt. Killed them in cold blood and for what? Some evidence against the Fiores? Even when he was trying to do something right, he was a failure.

“Basic first aid?” he asked, sucking in a deep breath before opening his eyes and looking towards Domi, “All that’s left is stumps! What am I suppose.. .suppose to do other than stop the bleeding?” He was very hesitant about giving his hand over to Domi. He had yet to actually look at the damage but knew he was missing two fingers and he knew it was not a pretty sight. It had also hurt, a lot, when it had first happened. Since then the pain had numbed but he was afraid it would start hurting again if it was tampered with. “Besides… it really h-” he paused part way through his sentence realizing that complaining it hurt was, well, complaining. Domi had already told him no complaining. So instead of finishing the sentence, he let go of his hand, leaving the blood stained cloth wrapped around it as he held it for Domi. Immediately after, he turned his head away from them, squeezing his eyes shut. “Just… just be gentle.” Not that he would blame them if they weren’t. He deserved the pain he was in.

As he had held out his hand, Lily had returned from the bathroom holding a small towel in her vines that she had dampened with a bit of water. She wasn’t sure what they needed it for but she held it out to Maeva nonetheless in hopes she had done a good job.
