Spring has finally surfaced in Regnum, the mass amount of ice and snow slowly beginning to vanish as the flowers take over. Though the rivers still contain some ice and many buildings have fallen to ground due to the earthquake, the colours of spring has managed to make the place seem a tad bit peaceful. Perhaps it's a sign that things will be getting better again soon.
click above for more information!
It came so suddenly and without warning throughout the dead of the night: A sudden pulse throughout the city, followed by another and another. By the time people knew what was happening, a large earthquake shook the city, causing buildings to tumble, grounds to crack and shift and, worse of all, the city borders to collapse. Many lives were lost, others injured and lives completely changed forever.

The power plant in Regnum is still down, but some groups have gotten together with electric Pokemon to help restore some of the electricity to the city. It is suggested not to walk the streets alone as the crime rates have sky rocketed despite the efforts of the Enforcement Wing. Phones and internet is still down, but people have started finding other ways to communicate for the time being. In good news, the weather has begun to warm up, the snow and ice finally melting. Sadly, the barrier is still blocking people from leaving the city.

Angels don't give up on me today
'Cause the demons they are there, they just keep biting
14 Apr 17, 11:57 PM
BRIAR: -After another late night at work, Briar sighs as he trudges down the sidewalk. His hands tug at his hair, pulling back long, dark locks before he could secure his hair into a ponytail holder. His hands fall away, only to be shoved into his coat. Today was one of the few days his chauffeur would not be picking him up, so he had a long way to walk until he would be home for the night. Good thing it isn't cold out. Oh, wait. It is.-

15 Apr 17, 12:11 AM
DUNKIN: The air was still crisp and gnawed at his staples. His hands shoved deep in to his tattered coat to shield them away from the cold. He hated being cold. Dunkin moved from the safety of his dark alley way and sauntered through the not so busy sidewalk. Until, he spotted this dainty beauty coming his way. With poor people skills, he stops in the middle of the path and watch as they trudged forward.

15 Apr 17, 12:17 AM
BRIAR: -While used to more or less tuning out his surroundings while walking on the street, only aware of immediate dangers, Briar almost completely misses the stranger in the middle of the sidewalk. Almost. His eyes focus on the tall stranger and recognize that there was a road block only steps away. He immediately takes a step to the side to walk around said road block.-

15 Apr 17, 12:24 AM
DUNKIN: As the tyke walked around him without so much as a funny glance or ungodly screech like most people do when they see him, he took that as a invitation to follow them. He extended a hand as if he were about to say something but his mouth didn't bother to open-- that and he forgot what he was going to even say to something so.. attractive? cute. or.. small? Small and cute. Smute. (What rattles around in his head-- nothing.)

15 Apr 17, 12:28 AM
BRIAR: -He did not have to look over his shoulder to know that he was being followed. Strange, tall man on the street in the middle of the night... What a terrible night for the chauffeur to be unavailable. With his lips forming a thin, tight line, Briar chose to continue on and hope that he could lose the man eventually.-

15 Apr 17, 12:34 AM
DUNKIN: Dunkin not even thinking that he probably seemed creepy or alarming just kept following him. He brought his index to his forehead and tapped on it thinking to how he could possibly engage in conversation. Finally.. he scuttled closer behind the other- but not too close. He doesn't want to send off red flags. "Ehhh, Perdon..." He muttered.

15 Apr 17, 12:39 AM
BRIAR: Pardon. -The correction comes out before Briar had time to properly process that he had been spoken to, having just barely caught the voice from behind. He slows his steps until he comes to a halt, turning around to face the stranger. He looks him up and down in what little light the nearby streetlight provides, his judgement and disgust masked behind a neutral expression before his gaze focuses on his face.- May I help you, sir?

15 Apr 17, 12:50 AM
DUNKIN: He too comes to a complete stop. They answered so quickly it jacked his process up. He stood for a moment and stared at the other before slowly shaking his head. "No." He replied. "...ehh, Just wanted to uhh.." He scratched his head staring at the ground. "Hmm.." he hummed before shrugging at the other. "Hola..." He was slow and soft spoken. Almost sloth like.

15 Apr 17, 01:00 AM
BRIAR: -His eyes bore holes into the man as he stared, silence enveloping him as he waits. Slow, fragmented speech only led him to believe that he might be dealing with someone who was either mentally stunted or poor at English. He chose to believe the latter and save his harsh judgements for later.- ... Hello. -Other languages had never been part of his education, though he was now tempted to request a tutor... After he graduated college.-

15 Apr 17, 01:13 AM
DUNKIN: Dunkin lowered his head slightly as this dainty boy burned holes into him. He wasn't at all self-conscious about how he looked.. but he never had anyone stare back at him. But he continued to stare down at the tyke, his pale blue eyes finally shifted away as he rummaged through his pockets with a seemingly good idea. He removed from his coat pocket a pocket watch, a rusty nail and a unopened bottle of red nail polish. Something he pocketed because... why not. He needed it. He extends his hands out to the other. "Hmm, querer esto?" He muttered as his soft gaze glanced between his treasures and the stranger he decided to bother.

15 Apr 17, 01:20 AM
BRIAR: -Blinking, his gaze averted only to draw down toward the hand that was presented to him. He scrutinizes the random items for a moment before pulling out his phone, tapping away until his gaze once more returned to the stranger.- No. I do not take oddities from strangers. -Perhaps he should ask for that tutor sooner than later.-

15 Apr 17, 01:27 AM
DUNKIN: He stared for a moment and shrugged before stuffing them back into his pockets. "Strangers..?" he piped thinking for a moment. Trying to register what was happening. He then realized he forgot to introduce himself. "Oh. Dunkin." He paused for a hot minute before pointing to the other. "Como te llamas?"

15 Apr 17, 01:30 AM
BRIAR: -Definitely bad at English. Dismissing the thought, he would have returned his attention to his phone had he not inferred what he must have meant. Regardless, he was still a stranger to him.- Briar.

Better to Burn out, then fade away
Dunkin Knull
WORD COUNT: #151
When there is nothing left to burn, you have to set your self on fire
Dunkin gave a slow nod, acknowledging the others response. "Hmm.. Briar huh..?" he tilted his head at him, watching him with this lazy, half lidded gaze. "Mmm Me gusta." He nodded. At this point the cold started to seep into his staples, irritating his skin, what was left of it anyway. He let out a soft groan as he reached up to gently itch around his mangled skin. He pawed at his face for a moment before glancing back down at Briar. Having another long awkward stare down. "...está frío afuera." He finally pipped. Dunkin rubbed at his arms to get a little warmer.

Finally Dunkin tilted his head to the side again trying to think of words to say to him. He was bad at this sort of thing- but then again he particularly avoids talking to anyone. "...Uhh.. Can I walk with you..?" He added in with perfect English

He was beginning to wonder why he had stopped to begin with. He could have continued walking and tried to find some way to lose this strange man. He could have been home by now. But, no. Instead, he was staring at a man whose features were shrouded by the poor lighting. He would have to lead him underneath the nearby streetlight if he wanted to properly observe him, but at the very least he could make out odd lines marring Dunkin's face. Said lines seemed to be bothering the man, though it could just be a coincidence in where his fingers began to rub.

Feeling his brow knit in concentration as he continued to watch the stranger, Briar almost glanced down at his phone once more for a translation. However, it would seem he was given one more reason to make an assumption on what he had said when Dunkin rubbed at his arms, a common practice to warm one's body. Ah. He's cold. Understandable. This language barrier, however, was proving to be frustrating. He was tempted to just hold up his phone and have Dunkin speak into it so everything he said would be translated.

Then came the question in easy English, and his lips turned down in a frown. Maybe that first judgement was correct. The fair skinned brunet was silent for a moment longer before a soft sigh passed through his lips. He pocketed his phone, leaving his hands in his pockets for warmth. "You seemed intent on following me earlier regardless." Briar turned around as his words faded off, starting forward once more. If he was going to have a stranger tag along, then he would need to change his destination.

Dunkin Knull

"..Hmm.. Okay." He hummed in a low yet soft tone. Dunkin stared down at Briar for a long while until he turned and started off again. He followed after. He could never quite get his thoughts from point A to point B so his communication skills were more then lacking.. But, he couldn't help him self. This guy was pretty to look at and well.. he was seemingly friendly enough. Despite a noticeable lack in patience. Dunkin did make it difficult for people looking the way he did and not having much to say.

He followed behind the other just really enjoying the company... Even though nothing was being said. Its the fact he allowed him to tag along and didn't scream. The screaming hurts his ears. Any loud sound does. He brought his hand up to itch around the irritated staples under his eyes. He kept glancing from the ground to Briar then the path then back to Briar. This repeated a few times before finally he pipped up. "Ermm... Brezo, Hungry?" He asked. He then did something out of the norm. He nervously scratched at the nape of his neck- though, at a glance he had the same, dead expression on his face. "...If you want.. I bring you food?" he struggled. "Or.. umm.." he fell silent to think of more things he could possibly say. Which may take a while.

As he walked, he was once more reminded of how little he enjoyed the presence of other people. No matter who it was--be it his family, his bother, or the random guy off the street--he always wanted to be rid of them as soon as possible. Get what needed to be done, done, then leave to return to his own little world, be it his research or his suite. Anything so he would not have to deal with other people. Yet, here he was, allowing some stranger follow him. If he really felt like it, he could just call out his Kabutops, his bodyguard of sorts, and have him chase the man off. Then he could go home and pass out. Ugh, but I still have homework to do... Scratch that. Go home, do homework, then pass out before he had to wake up again for work.

Briar was drawn out of his thoughts as the man spoke up once more. His voice was almost hard to miss; he might have had they met during the day while everyone still filled the streets. Was he hungry? His last meal had been around four during a small break while waiting for a machine to finish running some tests. That had only been a meager sandwich and a bottle of water. Nothing more. He was inclined to say yes, especially if he was going to be out longer than anticipated. "No," was the vocalized answer, however. He should not take food from a stranger, even if it was bought. At least, he could only assume the man meant he was going to buy food.

Too bad the mention of food caused his body to protest in the form of his stomach rumbling.

Dunkin Knull
WORD COUNT: #156

Dunkin trailed behind the smaller male as he thought about to say.. then he trailed off on his thoughts trying to think of the last time he ate. Which was late last night. Nothing but a roll and a can of tuna. He wasn't much of a picky eater. He just didn't eat as often as he should. He sleeps all through the day so when night rolls around he isn't all that hungry.

Finally Briar broke the silence with a stern, 'No'. He blinked and brought his hand up to the nape of his next pondering what else he could possibly say next.. until Briars stomach disagreed with what he said and protested audibly. "Ah.. Is Brezo sure?" He pipped after a hot minute. "...If you want I can show you the best place to get street food.." He hummed. Now moving both hands to the pockets of his tattered coat. "Dunkins, treat for Brezo."

Embarrassment was not something he felt often. He had grown accustomed to this state of disregard for the thoughts of most or for what his own actions might result in. However, for the first time in a while, he could feel his cheeks and the tips of his ears beginning to heat up. Thankfully, it was dark out, and it should be nearly impossible to see the embarrassed flush on his face. He refused to look back at Dunkin, keeping his eyes ahead to 'look where he was going'.

"... No," he finally spoke up, his voice coming out as a grumble. He fell quiet again, biting down on the inside of his cheek as he thought. He might as well give in. His stomach was just going to continue growling at him for at least half an hour until it gave up. "... Fine." He halted his steps just as he reached a bench beside the Vivillon Park entrance. Briar still refused to look back at him. "Take the lead, I guess."

Dunkin Knull

With a slow blink Dunkin tilted his head before Briar came to a complete stop. And when he stopped, Dunkin stopped. To keep from running into the back of him or stopping too close. "Uhh..." He paused. Honestly surprised he said a variation of yes. "Oh..." He again drew a eerie hand from his pocket and itched at the nape of his neck. "I wasn't expecting you to agree.. but okay."

Dunkin sauntered passed Briar with his hands re-stuffed into his pockets. A hazy eye peered over his shoulder down to the smaller male. "Brezo, Follow.." He was quick to turn his head back forward and he lead them down the side walk a little ways before getting to the Vivillon park entrance. The way he stopped was just outside the beam of light that a lamp post cast down. Creating a some what eerie view. "We can cut through the park.. if you want too." He drawled.

He turned towards Briar slowly and sloth like. "Or... we can go around the Park but it will take longer. Brezo's choice." He piped. Bringing a hand up to itch around a few irritated staples. "Its cold.. so I would prefer the fastest route."

"If you do not expect a response of agreement, then you should not propose the question to begin with." He kept his head focused forward, tilting his chin down slightly as one of his hand pulled up to comb a lock of dark brown hair behind his ear. With his eyes fixated upon the ground, he briefly glanced at the passing set of feet, looking up only when he was told to follow. One arm wrapped around his stomach as if it would cease the occasional grumble of hunger, and he started forward to follow after the weird man.

His steps slowed until he was forced to stop a few feet away from Dunkin, a frown on his lips. Why was he even asking if he was going to state his preference? "Fastest route." There was no point in choosing anything else. His eyes drifted to where the man was scratching himself, his frown persisting. "Itching will only make it worse."

Better to Burn out, then fade away
Dunkin Knull
WORD COUNT: #306
When there is nothing left to burn, you have to set your self on fire
Dunkin blinked as his hand lowered. "Hmmm... Yeah. It will." He agreed. And brought his hand right back up to finish itching it anyway. It was irritating, he had to scratch it. He dropped his hand and stuffed back into his pocket once more with a nod to his head. "Hm. We go through then.." And with that they started to trek through the park.

Knull was slow moving, he sauntered down the path with an obvious slouch to his back. He peered back to Briar and tilted his head just slightly. He thought of saying something but decided against it. He stared forward once again and sighed. After a long silence he finally spoke up with a low hum. "Brezo..." He paused. "What do you d--" He was caught off by the sound of a pokeball setting off. Creating a small bulge under his jacket. Which, he came to a full halt as he peered into his coat. "Bla--"

Dunkin made an audible groan as a small purple imp scurried out from his coat and over his shoulder, staring down at Briar. Grinning at him. Dunkin turned and as he did so did the imp. "Blair.. This is Brezo." The sableye tilted its head and made a series of clicks and hisses none of which were threatening. He pulled out her ball and went to call her back but she was quick for his sloth like speed. She had scurried to his back and just hung out making these giggling sounds. He didn't have much effort to try and call her back and instead left her be. "...Fine." He groaned. And Dunkin turned to keep walking.

The sableye grinned at Briar as it made its way back to Dunkins shoulder and tilting its head at him waving its creepy little hand like claw. Dunkin waited a minute before asking once more. "What do you do, Brezo? For work..."

'Cause the demons they are there, they just keep biting
The blatant disregard for his words, even after agreeing to them, was rather frustrating. The frustration did not last for long as he tore his eyes away from Dunkin to glance around, pulling his coat tighter around his slim frame. It was not hard to follow after the strange man, as he soon found out as they turned into the park. He was almost sluggish in a way, but, perhaps, that was a good thing. The heavy blanket of ice and snow on the ground of the park hindered his own movements, and Briar would have otherwise had difficulty keeping up.

Dark eyes returned to the taller man as he spoke up, and he blinked in confusion as the man's jacket began to grow a strange abscess. Ah, not an abscess. That would make it medical. This... was a Pokemon. With his frown on his lips and a slight wrinkle to his brow, he watched as a Sableye appeared and grinned at him. "... Hello, Blair." The confusion on his face loosened until his expression was once more neutral. He was not going to question why the goblin needed to be out or why it needed to keep grinning at him. It was better not to know.

"I work for the Medical Wing," he answered without a moment of thought once the question was posed. His eyes turned away for a moment as he continued to follow. "Medical research, though you could say I am also a nurse." Briar was forced to work as one, at the very least. "And, you?"

Dunkin hummed as he turned slightly to eye Briar, causing Blair to shift to his other shoulder. "...Hmm. Medical wing?" He thought for a moment. "Nurse? Ah, Brezo fixes things." He'd ask for new staples but he should probably take him to dinner first.

He paused for a long while upon Briar's question back, not sure what to reply with. Lie or truth? He groaned, reaching up and scratching at the nape of his neck. "... Ermmn. I work at the Graveyard." A partial truth then. "And uh.. side jobs." He replied, hoping that answer will suffice for the time being.

They would follow the length of the trail until they made it out of the park. Dunkin stood in front of a Pub with a tacky neon light and turned to Briar with a huff. "..Made it." He reached forward and slowly opened the door to the building and motioned for Briar to go in first. "Después de ti...." He drawled.

"... Yes. I fix things." That was a very vague description of his job, but he supposed he would have to go along with it. People were not things, though there were some cases where it might as well be so. Like his own case. Ah, now was not the time to think on that. His hands pull out of his coat pockets, lifting to fiddle with his hair and the band securing it. Tilting his head slightly down and to the side, his eyes remained focused on Dunkin and the little goblin. A few moments passed before his hand fell away with his long hair now pulled high away from the ground in a bun. A messy bun since he was not looking in a mirror, but a bun all the same.

"You must be well acquainted with the dead, then." He was, himself, but for different reasons. He often went into the morgue for extra research on causes of death, and he was often there to help with whoever was performing autopsies. Revolting work, yet fascinating all the same.

Briar welcomed the silence that followed. The park turned into the street once more, and a frown tugged at the corners of his lips as he noticed their destination. Ugh, a pub? Disgusting. He should have said no. Was it too late for that? Apparently not, he mused to himself as Dunkin opened the door. The brunet let out a soft sigh before passing by and striding through the door. Dark eyes swept across the interior of the pub, his nose wrinkling slightly and doing a poor job of concealing his obvious judgement.

That comment alone cause Dunkin to stare at Briar with an audible sniff. "Yeah.." He replied. He was well acquainted with the dead and with death.. killing. But these are fine details of his life that the human doll didn't need to know. That he will never know.

He followed Briar inside the pub and what little people that were inside stared at Briar. Watching him, plotting and snickering- Until dunkin walked up behind him. Then everyone gazes shifted back to their drinks as nothing but an old jukebox played a terribly old song. Dunkins eyes grazed over the entire bar before stepping around Briar to lead him to 'his' booth. Which was a booth in the very back.

"Here, sit." He motioned towards the booth and gave Briar the option to pick what side he preferred. After he chose he sat across from him- also being the sort to not want to be touched or too close to anyone. But the company was nice to have. A waitress who in Dunkins opinion has seen better year brought them their menus. She seemed uneasy as she asked briar."What will ya have to drink..?"

He could feel several pairs of eyes on him, yet there was not even a hint of discomfort to cross his features. His expression remained judgmental and overall unhappy to be there. No complaint was voice, and he made no movement to try and see who was looking at him. Honestly, he didn't care. He didn't care if a mere stranger he would never speak to or see again looked at him strangely. He didn't care that the feeling of being watched seemed to disappear as the weird man stepped up behind him--he did take note of it, however.

Glassy eyes briefly glanced at Dunkin as the man moved, and the brunet waited only a moment, his eyes settling on his back while his look of judgement returned to its neutrality, before stepping after him. There was only a moment given to considering his choices on which side to sit on. Both were unpreferable, but he doubted any other seating arrangement in the establishment would suit his tastes. What tastes were those? Cleanliness.

Briar's small frame slipped into the left seat, wrinkling his nose slightly as his hands brushed over the material covering the booth. He quickly rubbed his hands against his pants, seemingly too caught up in ridding himself of the imaginary feeling of filth to even look up at the waitress. Really, he was just being rude. "Water. From a bottle. I'll know if it's from the tap." His attention quickly drifted to the menu as he scanned over its contents.
